Job description

We are looking for a qualified candidate to fill this position. Role Summary - The Quantity Surveyor will assist in managing project costs, preparing estimates, administering contracts, and supporting value-for-money decisions throughout the project lifecycle. The role reports to senior project and commercial leads and works closely with engineers, architects, and contractors. Key Responsibilities: Pre-Contract Support - Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility inputs for real estate projects. - Assist in the preparation of bills of quantities, tender documents, and pricing schedules. - Support tender analysis and contractor selection by comparing bids and identifying cost efficiencies. Cost Control & Contract Administration - Monitor project budgets and track expenditure against approved cost plans. - Prepare interim valuations and support payment certifications. - Assist in evaluating variations, claims, and change orders. - Maintain accurate cost records and cash flow forecasts. Post-Contract & Reporting - Support preparation of final accounts and cost reports. - Assist in resolving cost-related issues and contractor claims. - Participate in post-project cost reviews to improve future cost planning. Collaboration - Work closely with project managers, site engineers, consultants, and contractors. - Communicate cost implications of design or scope changes clearly and promptly. Required Qualifications: & Experience - Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline. - 5–8 years relevant experience in quantity surveying, preferably within real estate or building construction. - Membership (or progress toward membership) of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) is an advantage. - Working knowledge of construction contracts commonly used in Nigeria. - Good understanding of construction materials, methods, and cost drivers. - Proficiency in quantity surveying and basic project management tools (e.g., CostX, Excel, MS Project). - Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and good communication abilities.
