Quality Control Microbiologist

Position Overview: - The Quality Control (QC) Microbiologist will ensure product safety and compliance by testing raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods for microbial contamination. - Manages critical tasks like sterility testing, environmental monitoring, and endotoxin analysis, essential for preventing contamination in products like vaccines, injectables, and raw materials, adhering strictly to cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices). Key Responsibilities: - Testing and Analysis: Executing bioburden testing, microbial identification, growth promotion, and water testing to ensure product quality. - Environmental Monitoring: Monitoring manufacturing areas for cleanliness by testing air, surfaces, and personnel. - Compliance: Ensuring all activities align with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, EMA) and standard operating procedures (SOPs). - Documentation: Reviewing, approving, and maintaining accurate records of laboratory tests. - Investigation: Conducting investigations into contamination events, OOS (Out of Specification) results, and implementing corrective actions. - Performs any other tasks assigned by management. Required Specifications - B.Sc/HND in Microbiology, or a related field. - Relevant professional certification (Certified Quality Manager) is desirable - A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant leadership experience in a structured pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation is required - Knowledge of aseptic techniques and laboratory equipment. - Knowledge of cGMP and relevant regulatory bodies is essential - The ability to prepare departmental standard operating procedures ( SOPs) and carry out factory audit exercises is essential. - Adaptability and continuous learning - Attention to detail. - Preference will be given to candidates living around Ikeja, Isheri, Ojodu-Berger, Alausa, Ojota, Ketu, Magodo, Omole, Magboro and environs.
