## Title: Purchase Manager

Position Summary

We are expanding our team and looking for a qualified and experienced Purchase Manager to lead procurement operations at our Ajaokuta Factory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate fair knowledge of various inventory items used in the manufacturing process
  • Leverage exposure to OEM and suppliers of relevant goods to optimize procurement
  • Execute techno-commercial roles with analytical ability to work on re-order levels
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to ensure agreed lead times and cycle times are maintained
  • Identify alternatives and innovate to drive cost-efficiency solutions
  • Engage with suppliers to ensure commitment dates are met
  • Coordinate with internal customers to move Purchase Requisitions (PR) to Purchase Orders (PO) to receipt
  • Ensure technical specifications and quality parameters are met
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships
  • Conduct supplier audits to maintain standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or procurement environment
  • Strong computer skills
  • Analytical mindset with a techno-commercial approach
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with a proven track record of effective negotiation and cost-saving initiatives/strategic sourcing
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, contract negotiation, and vendor management
  • Experience managing and developing procurement teams
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
