Project Scope
This project directly targets persons with disabilities, their family members, and other community structures across Borno state, including:
- State and local government ministries, departments, and agencies
- Civil Society Organizations and Organizations of People with Disabilities (OPDs)
- Women and girls
- Community Health Workers and community members
The project uses a structured multi-sectorial and Community Based Inclusive Development approach to strengthen the capacity of OPDs, CSOs, Faith-Based Organizations (FBOs), government stakeholders, and media platforms. This work reinforces awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting
- Collaborate with finance, administration, and programme staff to maintain accurate records of all daily transactions in the proper format
- Prepare balance sheets and other reports as required
- Process invoices to support payment activities
- Review and record accounts payable and accounts receivable in line with organizational policies and accounting standards
- Ensure the financial system remains current with up-to-date financial data
- Manage petty cash
- Perform additional accounting duties as needed
Banking
- Execute all banking transactions on time with minimal risk, in accordance with organizational and donor policies
- Collaborate with finance staff to support the Finance Manager and Executive Director in bank statement reconciliation
- Work with the programme team to prepare required budgets
- Manage petty cash in line with organizational policies and practices
Auditing, Financial Management, and Reporting
- Prepare month-end and quarterly financial reports
- Conduct and manage internal and external audit processes
