About the Role
BBC Media Action's Nigeria office is seeking a Project Director to lead an extensive, multi-year, multi-component Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) programme. Funded by the Gates Foundation, this high-profile project focuses on reproductive health and family planning in Northern Nigeria.
As the most senior role on this project, you will be accountable for delivering exceptional results on time, within budget, and in full alignment with the expectations of BBC Media Action and the Gates Foundation. You will report to the Country Director and work closely with other implementing teams and the Senior Management Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the effective design, delivery, management, and monitoring of a multi-media, multi-platform, multi-partner SBCC intervention
- Manage and disseminate learnings from the programme
- Provide dynamic, inspirational leadership and management across all aspects of the intervention, including sound technical and staff guidance
- Lead project activities in close collaboration with your team, other BBC Media Action teams, and relevant external stakeholders
- Ensure delivery of project objectives and donor commitments while maintaining alignment with BBC editorial standards and BBC Media Action's best practices
- Maintain oversight of all project activities and ensure creative outputs meet the highest quality standards
- Manage project budgets, including budget forecasting and financial planning
- Liaise with media, civil society, and government partners to support project delivery
- Provide strategic and technical guidance to specialist and project teams
