Professional Laboratory Scientist

Position Summary

The Professional Laboratory Scientist will be responsible for performing routine and specialized laboratory tests, ensuring accurate and timely results that support patient diagnosis and treatment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, ethical, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of laboratory practice.

Location

Chion Family Medical Centre, 7 Oki Lane, Mende, Maryland, Lagos, Nigeria

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, process, and analyze biological samples (blood, urine, stool, etc.)
• Perform laboratory tests following standard operating procedures and safety guidelines
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment
• Ensure accuracy, reliability, and proper documentation of test results
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, quality control, and infection prevention standards
• Adhere to regulatory, ethical, and confidentiality requirements
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals as needed

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field
• Valid professional license/registration as required by regulatory body
• Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, safety, and quality control
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Strong organizational and critical-thinking abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven experience in a clinical laboratory setting
• Residence in or close proximity to Maryland
