Production Engineer at African Industries Group (AIG)

Job Summary

We are hiring an experienced Production Engineer to join our dynamic Production team. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional with hands-on exposure to fabrication, welding, NDT, and production operations within a structured manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production, welding, and NDT operations in alignment with MIS and ISO procedures
• Monitor, maintain, and analyze daily machine output and production operations based on production plans
• Interpret fabrication and structural drawings and efficiently coordinate shop-floor activities
• Execute work allocation, production scheduling, and manpower supervision
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes of defects, and implement corrective actions to minimize rework and rejection
• Maintain accurate ISO documentation, ensure compliance during internal and external audits, and uphold strong shop-floor discipline
• Operate and supervise various machines including:
  • CNC Angle & Plate Punching machines
  • Plasma cutting machines
  • Hydraulic press, Press brake, Shearing machine
  • Drilling, Heel milling, Angle Notching & Stamping machines
  • Section straightening machines and hot bending equipment
• Promote 5S methodology, enforce general safety practices, and support continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Production Engineer in a fabrication or manufacturing setting
• Sound experience in fabrication of:
  • Oil & Gas structures
  • Transmission towers
  • Telecom towers
  • Solar structures
• Strong knowledge of welding processes, fit-up techniques, ISO documentation, and ERP/SAP systems

Desired Qualifications

• 8 years of relevant industry experience
• COREN registration
