Procurement Officer at Uni-Medical Healthcare Ltd Nigeria

About the Role

We are seeking a Procurement Officer to join our dynamic team at Uni-Medical Healthcare Ltd Nigeria. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating suppliers, products, and services while ensuring that all approved purchases are cost-efficient and of high quality. You will guarantee that every procurement meets the five rights principle: right quality, right quantity, right price, right place, and right time.

This position ensures timely procurement of high-quality medical products at competitive prices while maintaining accurate records and complying with regulatory and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers of medical consumables, medical equipment, and OEM products
• Develop and maintain relationships with local and international vendors to ensure a reliable supply chain
• Monitor and analyse market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate risks
• Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs) and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines
• Liaise with sales and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of orders
• Track and manage inventory levels to meet customer demands and minimize stockouts or overstocking
• Provide timely supplier tracking reports and updates
• Communicate order status, delays, or issues to relevant stakeholders
• Maintain accurate purchase and pricing records
• Manage end-to-end supply chain processes
• Monitor and forecast upcoming demand levels; track inventory levels, gaps, and bottlenecks in supply chain management procedures
• Develop mitigation plans for commodities supplies and delivery
• Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and conduct quality control activities in the procurement process
• Support implementation of the procurement plan through notifications to programs and departments
• Advise on changes to the procurement plan for ongoing procurement processes
• Update and maintain vendor information
