Piggery Supervisor (Non Breeder)

About the Role

Joakins Farms Nigeria Limited is seeking a qualified Piggery Supervisor to oversee daily operations at our Lagos facility. This position involves managing grower-finisher pig operations and ensuring optimal animal health and facility standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily piggery operations, including feeding, health monitoring, and facility maintenance for grower-finisher pigs
• Monitor animal health and identify health issues promptly, working with veterinarians and other experts as needed
• Manage pig movements and inventory, coordinate transitions, track stock levels, and maintain accurate records
• Maintain piggery facilities and equipment to ensure they are in good working order
• Implement and ensure compliance with biosecurity protocols to prevent disease outbreaks
• Lead, supervise, and train piggery staff on best practices in pig husbandry

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in Animal Science, Agriculture, or a related field
• 2 to 5 years of proven experience in pig husbandry, with specific experience caring for grower-finisher pigs
• Strong understanding of pig care and management practices
• Leadership and management skills with the ability to lead and manage a team effectively
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with animal welfare standards and biosecurity protocols
