PHP Developer (Custom Code & WordPress) at Charbens Limited

About the Role

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Web Developer with 2–3 years of experience in both custom website development and WordPress development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building high-performance, secure, and scalable websites, with a strong focus on website optimization, security, and CDN implementation. You will collaborate with our team to deliver functional, responsive, and well-optimized websites that meet client expectations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom-coded websites using HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, and JSON
• Build, customize, and maintain responsive WordPress websites and themes
• Optimize websites for performance (speed, core web vitals) and security
• Implement and configure CDN services (Cloudflare, AWS CloudFront, etc.)
• Conduct performance audits using tools like GTmetrix and Google PageSpeed Insights
• Apply best practices in coding, data protection, and security protocols
• Maintain and update existing websites, plugins, and content structures
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues across different browsers and devices
• Collaborate with designers, content teams, and project managers to meet deadlines

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2–3 years of hands-on experience in web development
• Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, PHP, and JavaScript
• Experience with WordPress development (themes, plugins, and core customization)
• Experience with performance optimization and security hardening
• Familiarity with CDN technologies and configuration (e.g., Cloudflare)
• Understanding of SEO best practices related to web development
• Experience with responsive and mobile-first design
• Version control knowledge (e.g., Git) is a plus

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with MySQL and database optimization
• Knowledge of hosting environments, cPanel, domain management, and backups
