Pharmacy Technician at Daniel Adewole Awe Medical Center (DAAMC)

About the Role

We are recruiting a Pharmacy Technician to join our expanding team at our medical center. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for dispensing medications, packaging prescriptions, and providing excellent counseling to patients. You will play a key part in maintaining pharmacy operations and ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and attentive customer service to all patients
• Assist in managing prescription orders, including data entry tasks such as creating new prescriptions, updating patient information, modifying prescriptions, and updating prescription statuses
• Maintain adequate stock levels of medications and pharmaceutical products by monitoring inventory, restocking shelves, and alerting the pharmacist when stock levels are low
• Dispense medications and package prescriptions accurately
• Provide pharmaceutical counseling to patients
• Provide administrative support to the pharmacy team, including filing paperwork, organizing records, and managing correspondence
• Coordinate with suppliers and service providers by managing vendor relationships, placing orders, tracking deliveries, and resolving any issues
• Work closely with pharmacists, other pharmacy technicians, doctors, nurses, and customer care staff to ensure smooth operations
• Ensure medications are stored properly to preserve their quality

Requirements

• Certificate of Pharmacy Technician (compulsory)
• Registration with the Board of Pharmacy and current practicing license as a Pharmacy Technician
• Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Pharmacy Technician
• Ability to process prescriptions electronically with accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to provide patient counseling
• Proficiency in multiple relevant languages (a plus)
