## Title: Patient Safety Coordinator

Position Overview

Join Reddington Hospital in Lagos as a Patient Safety Coordinator, playing a vital role in enhancing patient safety, quality improvement, and risk management across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in designing and facilitating multidisciplinary Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives to enhance organizational effectiveness
  • Contribute to improving organizational systems for performance and risk management
  • Complete quality reviews and studies for presentation to hospital committees
  • Support implementation of Clinical Safety (CS) and Risk Management (RM) Plans
  • Develop statistical reports and conduct data analysis for the QI cycle
  • Serve on various hospital committees, including clinical governance, providing expertise on Quality Assurance (QA), Risk Management, and Clinical Safety
  • Review sentinel events and near-misses with medical staff; prepare case summaries and reports for Quality Management or Risk Management
  • Coordinate thorough analyses and ensure timely follow-up on incidents and events, supporting peer reviews and Professional Practice Evaluations
  • Recommend and implement changes based on evaluation results to assess the need for organizational improvement
  • Analyze reports from the Patient Safety Event Reporting program and collaborate on investigations
  • Manage follow-up responses to third parties and address patient grievances
  • Support the Occupational Health Nurse in achieving compliance with safety regulations
  • Assist in staff education on Quality Management, Clinical Safety, and Risk Management topics
  • Collaborate with the Regulatory Compliance Officer to meet regulatory requirements
  • Manage and report data from event reporting systems and other relevant sources
