## Title: Veterinary Doctor – Pastoral Livestock & Poultry Health

Job Purpose

AMO Farm Sieberer Hatchery Limited seeks a highly skilled and passionate Veterinary Doctor with strong expertise in poultry and livestock health management. The ideal candidate will provide professional veterinary support to the organization's pastoralist network, ensure animal welfare, and enhance productivity through comprehensive disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases affecting poultry and livestock within assigned clusters
  • Conduct routine farm health visits and implement vaccination and biosecurity programs
  • Train and supervise Paravets and farmers on animal health, handling, and record-keeping
  • Support field investigations of disease outbreaks and implement corrective actions
  • Advise management on herd and flock health status and recommend appropriate interventions
  • Ensure proper drug use, correct dosage, and adherence to withdrawal periods
  • Collaborate with R&D and production teams to improve animal health performance indicators
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare periodic veterinary reports

Qualifications & Experience

  • DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) from a recognized institution
  • Registration with the Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN)
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in poultry or livestock practice
  • Experience with rural pastoral systems is an advantage
  • Good understanding of animal vaccination, nutrition, and disease control
  • Strong communication, training, and analytical skills
  • Willingness to travel to rural communities and remote locations
