Job description
The Role
Reporting to the Chief Medical Director, the Optometrist supports the daily care and management of patients in collaboration with the Consultant Ophthalmologist. The role involves actively contributing to the delivery of eye care services, including vision assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning. The Optometrist will also play a supportive role in supervising clinical activities and guiding medical staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct full eye health and vision examinations using advanced diagnostic tools
- Prescribe and fit corrective lenses
- Educate patients on proper eye care and visual hygiene
- Apply vision therapy techniques as appropriate
- Maintain accurate patient records in line with regulatory requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry degree (O.D) from a recognized institution
- Certification from the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria with a valid Certificate of Practicing License
- Minimum of 2 years' post-NYSC clinical experience
- NYSC discharge certificate or exemption letter
- Proficiency with computer systems
