Job description

- Clinix Healthcare is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Optometrist to join our eye care team. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality vision and eye health services, and we are looking for a professional passionate about providing accurate eye examinations, vision correction, and contributing to excellent patient outcomes.
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity, refractive errors, and overall ocular health.
- Diagnose common vision problems (such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, presbyopia) and detect signs of eye diseases or conditions (e.g., glaucoma, cataracts, or diabetic retinopathy).
- Prescribe corrective lenses (eyeglasses and contact lenses) and provide advice on lens options and frame selection.
- Perform diagnostic tests using specialized equipment to evaluate eye function, visual fields, intraocular pressure, and binocular vision.
- Manage and counsel patients on eye care, preventive measures, and treatment plans for minor ocular conditions.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals for referrals and multidisciplinary care when necessary.
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensure quality control in testing procedures, and adhere to timely reporting.
- Educate patients on eye hygiene, protection from UV exposure, screen time management, and overall eye health.
- Comply with all regulatory standards, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow clinic safety protocols.
- Proficient in conducting eye tests and interpreting results with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients of all ages.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy clinical environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
- Strong analytical skills and commitment to ethical practice and continuous learning.
- Computer literate with proficiency in using electronic health records and optometric software.
- National Youth Services Corps (NYSC) program completed.
- Valid practicing license from the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria (ODORBN).
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Valid practicing license from the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria (ODORBN).
- Minimum of 1–2 years of relevant post-qualification experience in optometry (experience in a clinical or hospital setting is an advantage).
