Operations and Maintenance Supervisor (Distribution) at Nigerian Electricity Supply Corporation (Nigeria) Limited (NESCO)

About the Role

A reputable organization seeks a dedicated individual to oversee maintenance activities of electrical distribution systems, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of power delivery.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical distribution equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, and switchgear
• Respond promptly to system disturbances, outages, or emergencies by coordinating maintenance efforts to restore normal operations as quickly as possible
• Ensure all maintenance work is performed safely and in compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and incident reports
• Prepare and submit reports on maintenance performance, equipment reliability, and corrective actions taken
• Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations
• Develop work schedules and assign tasks to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities
• Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Lead O&M

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• B.Eng or HND in an Engineering field with COREN accredited PGD and Masters in the same field
• 3 to 4 years of experience in electrical maintenance
• Professional certifications in maintenance management or electrical systems (advantageous)

Required Competencies and Attributes

• Understanding of electricity regulations, policies, and energy loss prevention measures
• Proficiency in using maintenance management software and familiarity with SCADA systems
• Strong understanding of safety standards and regulatory requirements in the power industry
• Team leadership and supervisory skills
