Operations - Air Freight Officer

Position Overview

This role is responsible for leading and managing air freight port operational and logistics activities and field officers. The successful candidate will measure and deliver quality customer service while managing operational budgets effectively.

This position involves interaction with internal teams (Sales, Customer Service, Pricing, Courier), external customers, regulatory agencies, and port stakeholders to ensure all enquiries are addressed promptly and appropriately.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with airlines, regulatory agencies, and truckers for the import and export of shipments
• Manage the complete shipment process, including arranging pick-up or inland transportation, booking, document preparation, forwarding, and tracking to final destination
• Ensure data quality requirements are met throughout all operations
• Immediately report, resolve, or escalate operational problems, disputes, or shipment discrepancies as appropriate
• Maintain current knowledge of all relevant documentation, local import regulations, and restrictions applicable to Nigeria
• Proactively address issues arising in the job clearance process and keep customer service informed of developments
• Maintain proper job documentation through daily booking lists for ready reference
• Ensure proper filing systems are maintained in an easily accessible manner for future reference

Required Skills & Qualifications

• OND or Degree in Social Science, Management, or related fields
• Experience in logistics, supply chain, and air freight operations (advantageous)
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills
• Proficiency in computer literacy

Compensation

N85,000 - N100,000 monthly
