## Title: Nutrition Assistant

About the Position

We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the Nutrition Assistant role at Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement a comprehensive Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) program in the assigned county in collaboration with the Programme Manager and Hygiene and Sanitation staff
  • Serve as the Nutrition Programme Focal Point, including cross-cutting activities (GBV, PSEA)
  • Provide hygiene promotion training to Community Nutrition Mobilizers (CNMs), Nutrition Health Workers, and Hygiene Promoters who deliver sessions to community members to improve hygienic behavior and practices
  • Support coordination with malnourished patients and track cases of cholera and other nutrition and WASH-related diseases
  • Monitor, track, and report Acute Watery Diarrhea (AWD)/Cholera, Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM), and Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) cases admitted in Outpatient Therapeutic Programs (OTP), Stabilization Centers (SCs), and Health Care Centers

Key Duties

  • Support nutrition activities at mobile clinics
  • Supervise patient health education sessions conducted by Community Health Workers (CHWs) in Maternal and Child Health (MCH) and mobile outreach sites
  • Ensure OTP/Therapeutic Supplementary Feeding (TSF) protocols are strictly adhered to when treating malnourished cases
  • Organize case-finding activities with CHW support to identify malnourished children at the community level
  • Provide health education and information on prevention and treatment of malnutrition, breastfeeding, and hygiene and sanitation to caregivers
  • Support acute malnutrition management activities, including training and supportive supervisory activities to ensure the Outpatient Therapeutic Care Programme (OTP) and Supplementary Feeding Programme (SFP) are operational and offering integrated nutrition services
  • Assist in planning, quantification, and site selection for nutrition services establishment and operations
  • Supervise CMAM teams at nutrition services sites on a weekly basis
  • Ensure all beneficiaries (children and pregnant and lactating women) in the CMAM programme receive care and treatment in accordance with sector standards
