## Title: Nutrition Assistant

About the Position

Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF) seeks a qualified Nutrition Assistant to support comprehensive nutrition and health programs in Lagos, Nigeria. The position holder will serve as a key member of the nutrition team, coordinating community health activities and ensuring effective program implementation across multiple service delivery points.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement a comprehensive Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) program in the assigned area in collaboration with the Programme Manager and Hygiene and Sanitation staff
  • Serve as the Nutrition Programme Focal Point, including coordination of cross-cutting activities (Gender-Based Violence, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse)
  • Provide hygiene promotion training to Community Nutrition Mobilizers (CNMs), Nutrition Health Workers, and Hygiene Promoters to improve community hygienic behaviour and practices
  • Support nutrition activities at mobile clinics and supervise patient health education sessions conducted by Community Health Workers (CHWs) in maternal and child health (MCH) and mobile outreach sites
  • Assist in ensuring Outpatient Therapeutic Program (OTP) and Therapeutic Supplementary Feeding (TSF) protocols are strictly adhered to when treating malnourished cases
  • Organize case-finding activities to identify malnourished children at the community level with CHW support
  • Provide health education on prevention and treatment of malnutrition, breastfeeding, and hygiene and sanitation to caregivers
  • Support acute malnutrition management activities, including training and supervisory activities for OTP and Supplementary Feeding Programme (SFP) operations
  • Assist in planning, quantification, and selection of nutrition service sites and their operations
  • Provide weekly supervision and support to CMAM teams at nutrition service sites
  • Coordinate with nutrition and health staff to track and report Acute Watery Diarrhea (AWD)/Cholera, Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM), and Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) cases admitted in OTP, stabilization centers, and health care facilities
  • Ensure all beneficiaries (children and pregnant and lactating women) in the CMAM program receive appropriate care and treatment
