## Title: Nutrition Assistant

Position Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join Godiya Cherished Care for Humanitarian Response Initiative (GCCHRI) as a Nutrition Assistant. This position offers a 6-month contract, extendable based on performance and organizational needs.

Job Summary

The Nutrition Assistant will support the implementation of nutrition programs within our humanitarian setting. You will work closely with Community Nutrition Mobilizers (CNMs) and under the supervision of the Nutrition Officer to ensure that nutrition interventions are effectively integrated into broader health and food security initiatives. The primary focus will be on addressing malnutrition, promoting healthy eating habits, and supporting vulnerable populations—particularly women and children—in accessing essential nutrients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct advocacy visits and awareness creation activities, engaging community stakeholders on nutrition project activities to build community acceptance and participation
  • Monitor and supervise CNMs to ensure activities are being carried out effectively on site
  • Plan and organize nutrition activities at designated MAM sites in liaison with the Nutrition Officer and other program staff
  • Conduct regular focus group discussions with beneficiaries to assess barriers to optimal Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) uptake
  • Organize and participate in periodic food demonstration sessions
  • Support field-level technical assessments and plan community-led supplementary programs in project locations in liaison with the Nutrition Officer/Manager
  • Conduct routine integrated management of acute malnutrition (IMAM) screening using mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC) tape and bilateral pitting edema detection, operating under CMAM component SOPs and principles
  • Support beneficiary targeting, formation and establishment of Mother Care groups, and selection of community volunteers and community structure members
  • Work closely with care group promoters and lead mothers to ensure program understanding, agreement, and appropriate referrals between the community and MAM sites
