Nurse / Midwife at St Luke's Hospital Asaba

About the Role

As a Nurse/Midwife at St Luke's Hospital Asaba, you will report to the hospital's matron and play a vital role in the day-to-day management and care of patients. You will take an active role in overseeing and assisting patients in sustaining and maintaining their health and wellbeing, with the possibility of participating directly in care when services are initially implemented.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement nursing care plans for patients in designated work stations
• Assist the medical team in patients' diagnosis and treatment
• Perform clinical procedures including:
  • Patient admission and discharge
  • Taking patient histories
  • Monitoring vital signs and follow-up care
  • Wound dressings
  • Administering medication
  • IV placement and insertions
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all patient encounters
• Report incidents promptly and manage patient grievances
• Maintain a clean and safe environment at all times
• Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures and hospital policies
• Adhere to quality standards in all aspects of patient care

Qualifications & Requirements

• Double qualification as Registered Nurse (RN) and Registered Midwife (RM)
• Valid Nursing Practicing License
• Computer literacy
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to handle stress and manage crisis situations effectively
