About the Role

A reputable organization seeks a dedicated individual for this Medical Records Officer position. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity and accessibility of patient medical records while ensuring strict compliance with data protection and confidentiality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and complete patient medical records in both physical and electronic formats
• Retrieve and file patient records efficiently to support medical consultations and treatments
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and patient confidentiality standards
• Support medical staff with timely access to patient records and health information
• Generate health information reports and statistics for internal use and regulatory compliance
• Monitor and update patient admission, discharge, and transfer records
• Participate in quality assurance, audits, and record-keeping improvements within the medical unit
• May also serve as Physician's Assistant when needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years' experience in medical records management, preferably in a hospital or clinical environment
• National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management, Medical Records, or related field
• Valid practicing license with the Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBN)

Required Skills and Competencies

• Proficiency in medical records software, electronic health systems (EHR), and database management
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality and data security
• Good interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare staff
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage sensitive information with discretion
