Medical Officer at Caring Habitat

Position Overview

The Medical Officer will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care, diagnosing and treating illnesses, and promoting overall wellness. This role involves collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care while adhering to medical protocols and standards.

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with weekend on-call duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Clerk new patients for admission
• Manage the outpatient department
• Conduct thorough medical assessments and examinations of patients
• Request and order medical investigations, collect samples, and follow up with results
• Attend daily ward rounds and prescribe medications as ordered
• Maintain prompt and accurate documentation of patient medical records in the EMR system
• Prepare discharge reports for patients
• Prepare clinical documentation as required
• Educate patients and families about their medical conditions and treatment plans
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care
• Stay informed about advancements in medical practice and treatments
• Adhere to all medical protocols, standards, and regulations
• Complete other clinical tasks as assigned by relevant authorities

Required Qualifications

• Medical Degree from an accredited institution
• Valid license to practice as a Medical Doctor
• 3-5 years of professional experience as a Medical Officer or in a similar role
• Proven experience managing patients with chronic medical conditions independently with minimal supervision
