Medical Laboratory Technician at Grandville Medical & Laser

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Medical Laboratory Technician to support our laboratory operations. You will work directly under the supervision of the Lab Scientist, assisting with laboratory duties and maintaining laboratory equipment to ensure optimal functionality and accurate test results.

Key Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Lab Scientist
• Organize laboratory work by matching computer orders with specimen labeling, sorting specimens, checking labeling accuracy, and logging specimens
• Arrange reports for delivery and maintain clean, orderly work surfaces
• Maintain quality results by running standards and controls, verifying equipment function through routine maintenance and troubleshooting
• Calibrate equipment using approved testing procedures
• Monitor quality control measures and protocols
• Run tests under the supervision of the Lab Scientist
• Identify and communicate abnormal patient conditions by alerting supervisory personnel, the pathologist, the patient's physician, or nursing staff
• Report mandated information to the public health department or other designated officials as required
• Maintain patient confidentiality and protect laboratory information
• Contribute to a safe and secure environment by following established standards, procedures, and legal regulations
• Adhere to professional standards, hospital policies, procedures, and federal, state, and local requirements
