Job Purpose

Under the supervision of the Medical Director, the Medical Doctor will be responsible for providing professional medical care to patients and beneficiaries, ensuring quality clinical case management in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

The role involves applying medical expertise, supporting health facilities and clinic activities, strengthening referral systems, and contributing to improved health outcomes of the target population in line with global standards, best practices, and protocols.

Key duties include obstetric and gynecological care, including delivery assistance, cesarean operations, routine clinical ward rounds for maternity and obstetrics/gynecology surgical patients, and general/family medicine patient care.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patients' medical problems by reviewing history, conducting diagnosis, providing treatment and counseling, and making referrals where necessary
• Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic results
• Perform obstetric deliveries and cesarean operations for patients requiring surgical intervention
• Conduct routine clinical ward rounds for maternity, obstetrics/gynecology surgical, and general/family medicine patients
• Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times when handling sensitive patient information
• Collect, record, and maintain patient examination results, medical history, and reports
• Explain procedures and prescribed treatments to patients
• Liaise with medical professionals in the community and at other hospitals
• Promote health education in conjunction with other health professionals
• Meet hospital targets for patient satisfaction
• Discuss and evaluate new pharmaceutical products with pharmaceutical representatives
• Keep current with medical developments, treatments, and medications
• Observe and assess the work of trainee doctors, nurses, and medical students
