Mechanical Engineer - Maintenance at Apple and Pears Limited

Position Overview

Apple and Pears Limited is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in the FMCG or manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining mechanical systems and equipment, ensuring smooth factory operations, and supporting inventory management in collaboration with the store and procurement teams.

Salary

₦200,000 – ₦250,000 per month

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical parts, including gearboxes and conveying systems
• Collaborate with store managers and procurement department to track and manage spare parts inventory
• Fabricate and maintain local parts where necessary to minimize downtime
• Read, interpret, and produce 2D engineering drawings
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and procedures
• Support production teams in minimizing equipment downtime and maximizing efficiency

Qualifications and Requirements

• B.Eng or HND in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 8 years' experience in the FMCG or manufacturing industry
• Proficiency in 2D drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD)
• Hands-on experience with gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, and rotating equipment
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and compliance requirements
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
• Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Sagamu for proximity to the factory
• Available to resume within 2 weeks' notice
