Mechanical Design Engineer at Terawork

Role Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to prepare accurate quantity take-offs from architectural and mechanical drawings, primarily for plumbing and piping works. This is a time-sensitive role where success is measured by delivering outputs within a 48-hour turnaround time. The ideal candidate will be a technically sound engineer capable of interpreting drawings independently and engaging in site discussions with clients when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs from architectural and mechanical drawings
• Review plumbing and piping layouts for accuracy and constructability
• Analyze Bills of Quantities (BOQs), drawings, and specifications to extract material quantities
• Support project discussions through site visits and client meetings
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accuracy and timely delivery
• Maintain high responsiveness, meeting a 48-hour Service Level Agreement (SLA) on assigned take-offs
• Participate in site meetings and technical discussions

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering or related degree (mandatory)
• 2–3 years of hands-on experience in plumbing and piping systems
• Proven ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings independently
• Experience producing quantity take-offs from construction drawings
• Familiarity with construction materials, fittings, and piping systems
