Mechanical and Electrical Engineer at O.K. Isokariari & Sons Nigeria Limited

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical and Electrical Engineer to plan, supervise, and coordinate mechanical and electrical works for building and infrastructure projects. You will oversee the installation of systems such as building automation, lighting, air-conditioning, and mechanical ventilation, while ensuring work is completed within budget and timeline.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project managers and contractors to ensure project timelines and budgets are met
• Conduct site visits to monitor installation progress, inspect workmanship, and troubleshoot issues
• Design, analyze, and develop mechanical and electrical systems for projects, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical distribution
• Create detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software
• Ensure designs meet industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements
• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of M&E systems and equipment
• Ensure systems are installed according to design specifications and meet performance standards
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for M&E systems
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues promptly to minimize downtime
• Ensure all work complies with local regulations, industry standards, and safety protocols
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures
• Maintain accurate records of designs, installations, maintenance activities, and equipment manuals
• Prepare reports on project progress, issues, and recommendations

Requirements

• Relevant qualifications in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
• Proven working experience as an M&E Engineer
• Membership with a professional body (e.g., COREN)
• Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, PROTA STRUCTURE, STAADPRO, and Civil 3D)
• Familiarity with rules, regulations, and best practices in the field
