Main Functions
The Materials Coordinator will perform and manage all activities necessary to enable effective end-to-end coordination of materials in support of projects. This role acts as the interface between the business unit and procurement, actively interacting with planning, inventory, vendors, buyers, and maintenance on a daily basis by providing customer support, effective and timely communication, alignment with business practices and controls, and a high level of materials and services fulfillment for site maintenance activities.
Tasks and Responsibilities
In addition to all Level 1 and 2 tasks and responsibilities, Level 3 responsibilities include:
- Identify opportunities for material master creation to reduce free texting for recurring material orders
- Assist in the management of equipment spare parts lists
- Participate in and lead risk assessments and hazard observations
- Provide support to business and planning organizations by verifying that site requirements for non-core services vendors are addressed before vendor arrival at site (safety training, travel and room accommodations, vehicle pass)
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Previous experience in a closely related position
- Extensive knowledge of SAP material catalogs and search tools
- Extensive knowledge of how and where materials are used in the plant
- Advanced time management skills
- Advanced problem-solving skills
- Advanced written and oral communication skills
- Ability to influence with and without authority
- Strong organizational skills
