## Title: Marine Operations Officer
Position Overview
Tamrose Ventures Limited (TVL) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the role of Marine Operations Officer based in Lagos, Nigeria.
Reports To: Port Captain / Marine Superintendent
Department: Marine Operations
Working Relationships: Tech Ops, Procurement, QHSE
Primary Role
Support the Marine Superintendent in delivering efficient marine operations and vessel management.
Daily Planning and Resource Management
- Receive and analyze daily activity reports from vessels for accuracy and compliance
- Monitor daily fuel consumption using FUELTRAX software and fuel management plan benchmarks; report non-conformities
- Monitor and escalate daily client action requests via email to the Port Captain
- Process daily vessel requests received through phone calls, emails, and ERP systems
- Interface with support department to ensure closure of vessel action items raised by clients, internal audits, and external audits
Vessel Requisitions and Port Call Management
- Review and validate all material and service requests for correctness; escalate to Port Captain for approval
- Coordinate with Supply Chain management to ensure timely procurement and delivery of requested items to vessels
- Conduct monthly vessel inspections and disseminate management instructions
- Liaise with Port Engineer to plan vessel pre-port call maintenance activities and communicate with clients
- Follow through with vessels and responsible parties to ensure timely closure of planned port call maintenance items for seamless turnaround
Crew Planning and Resource Management
- Monitor minimum rest hours for all crew members onboard to ensure compliance with MLC 2010 Manila Amendments
- Verify that all crew onboard conduct periodic CBT training to maintain compliance with current international best practices
Safety Planning and Resource Management
- Monitor safety observations onboard and enforce compliance; ensure one UC/UA is reported daily per vessel
- Provide technical support for incident investigations onboard
- Assist Port Captain with safety-related initiatives and procedures
