About the Role

The Marine Electronics Technician is responsible for performing repairs, installation, and maintenance of marine electronic equipment on commercial vessels.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform repairs, installations, and maintenance of MF, HF, and VHF radios, radars, satellite communications, shipboard networks and computers
• Service navigation and safety systems on commercial vessels
• Utilize test equipment including multimeters, watt meters, and spectrum analysers as required
• Operate hand and power tools
• Travel extensively as required for field assignments
• Complete all other assigned duties

Required Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience as a field technician working on electronic equipment
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Strong working knowledge of electrical safety standards
• Understanding of proper safety procedures and use of safety equipment
• Customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and complete tasks without direct supervision when necessary
• Self-motivated and team-oriented approach

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical knowledge of two-way radio, microwave, and satellite communications
• Experience using RFI, watt meters, spectrum analysers, and other test equipment
