## Title: Maintenance Officer

Job Summary

Hotel Capitol is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Officer to perform routine maintenance tasks and repairs across our facility. The ideal candidate will ensure that equipment, utilities, and infrastructure are functioning efficiently and safely, minimising downtime and supporting smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs on electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC systems
  • Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify issues and carry out necessary repairs
  • Replace light bulbs, clean fixtures, repair doors, paint surfaces, and perform other general maintenance tasks
  • Monitor and maintain building security systems, fire alarms, and emergency lighting
  • Assist with equipment installations, relocations, and upgrades as required
  • Respond promptly to maintenance service requests and resolve them efficiently
  • Keep records of work performed and report major repairs or equipment needs to the supervisor
  • Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards at all times
  • Maintain tools and maintenance supplies in good working order
  • Assist with groundskeeping, waste disposal, and general upkeep of the facility

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in a relevant trade (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.) is a plus
  • Proven experience in building or equipment maintenance
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and general repair techniques
  • Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and diagrams
  • Good physical condition and the ability to lift heavy equipment or materials
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and PPE use
