Position Overview
This position offers an opportunity to join a leading organization as an experienced Substation Operator. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operations, inspection, and monitoring of electrical substations. The role involves controlling the flow of electricity through transmission and distribution systems by operating switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, and other high-voltage equipment. You will ensure compliance with safety regulations, maintain system reliability, and uphold operational protocols.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily checklists for 132kV double breaker disconnectors (Bays 1-5)
- Perform daily checklists for ABB/CGL SF6 circuit breakers (Bays 1-5)
- Conduct general checklists of 132/33/11kV transformers (Bays 1-5)
- Perform daily checklists of 132/33kV indoor control relay panels (CPR) No. 1-11, 12-21, and 22-40
- Conduct daily checklists of Battery Charger Type BC 70/100
- Perform daily checklists of Battery Charger Type MRC makes before OPUS Power System
- Monitor daily 132/33/11kV transformer oil temperature
- Monitor 33kV equipment terminal connector temperature
- Monitor 132kV equipment terminal connector temperature
- Perform checklists of 132/33/11kV switchyard and transformer equipment
- Record 132/33kV import power log sheet and CRP meter readings
- Record 11/33/132kV export power log sheet and meter readings
- Conduct transformer oil BDV testing when samples are received
- Record 60/45MVA, 40MVA, and 60MVA transformer tap changer readings
- Conduct ASM line inspections
Requirements
- WASSCE, NECO, Trade Test, or OND qualification in electrical engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 2-5 years of proven experience in electrical substation operations
- Technical or vocational training in electrical systems or power systems
