## Title: Magazine Officer
Position Overview
An established company is recruiting for a Magazine Officer to manage explosive materials and ensure full compliance with statutory requirements and safety standards.
Location
Obafemi Owode, Ogun, Nigeria
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the receipt, storage, issuance, and return of explosives in line with statutory and company requirements
- Maintain accurate stock records, registers, and inventory reports for all explosives
- Ensure compliance with government regulations, including those of the Ministry of Mines & Steel Development and other regulatory agencies
- Monitor magazine security and safety standards, ensuring only authorized personnel access restricted areas
- Conduct regular inspections of magazine facilities to ensure safety, housekeeping, and compliance with explosive storage regulations
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to meet material requirements without compromising safety
- Prepare and submit statutory returns and reports as required by regulatory authorities
- Support audits, risk assessments, and emergency drills related to magazine operations
- Maintain a secure, compliant, and organized facility
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum B.Sc. in Accounting, Business Administration, or any relevant social science course
- At least 3 to 5 years' experience in magazine operations, explosives handling, or similar role within a manufacturing or mining environment
- Strong organizational, record-keeping, and compliance monitoring skills
- Ability to work independently with high attention to detail and accountability
- Knowledge of explosives regulations and safety standards in Nigeria (added advantage)
- Certification in HSE or Explosives Management (added advantage)
Compensation
N120,000 - N150,000 monthly
