Machine Operator (Monoblock and Bottle Packaging) at Wemy Industries Limited

Job Summary

Wemy Industries Limited seeks a dedicated Machine Operator for our production facility in Lagos. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of monoblock and bottle packaging machines used for rinsing, filling, and capping operations. This role ensures optimal equipment performance, minimal downtime, and adherence to quality and safety standards in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on monoblock and bottle packaging machines (rinsing, filling, and capping units)
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults to minimize production interruptions
• Conduct machine setup and changeovers according to production schedules and product specifications
• Monitor equipment performance and adjust settings to ensure accurate fill volumes, proper sealing, and hygienic operations
• Replace or repair worn-out mechanical components such as bearings, seals, valves, and conveyors
• Maintain detailed maintenance logs and reports for all interventions
• Collaborate with electrical and instrumentation technicians to resolve integrated system issues
• Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hygiene, and Safety standards
• Participate in equipment upgrades, testing, and commissioning of new machinery
• Recommend process improvements to increase machine efficiency and reduce downtime

Qualifications and Experience

• OND, Test Trade or related technical discipline
• Minimum of 2–5 years hands-on experience in operating and maintaining monoblock and bottle packaging equipment (rinsing, filling, and capping)
• Strong knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, mechanical drives, and conveyor systems
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and manuals
• Excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with packaging line automation and basic PLC interface understanding
