Job description
## Title: Logistician 1
About the Role
Under the supervision of the Logistics Site Manager (LSM), the Logistician 1 provides technical and operational support in purchasing, warehousing, stock management, and statistics, in accordance with ICRC logistics standards and local legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure smooth coordination across logistics units (Fleet, Transport, Warehouse, Procurement)
- Ensure compliance with ICRC logistics procedures and security rules
- Provide logistical support to field sites under the supervision of the LSM
- Provide technical support and training for the operation and implementation of logistic procedures
- Liaise with other logistics units in MIU (Supply Chain, Fleet, Warehousing, Dispatch, AirOps)
- Ensure ICRC procurement rules are applied
- Analyze situations and propose contractual partners
- Develop contracts, maintain, and update a network of providers
- Follow up on all work-related messages and correspondence with relevant contacts and departments
- Ensure ICRC Logistics systems are in place and operational
- Manage proper use of Logistics Information System (JD Edwards, Integrated Resources Information System IRIS)
- Ensure compliance with Logistics standards (set-up, processes, and procedures) and economic use of all resources
- Ensure compliance with security rules and regulations pertinent to Logistics
- Contribute to the development and advancement of Logistics
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent higher education degree in business administration, logistics, or similar field
- Minimum 6 years of experience in logistics, administration, or similar position
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Computer skills and familiarity with logistics information systems
Desired Skills and Competencies
- Autonomy and professional competence in Logistics
- Knowledge of local languages (an asset)
- Mastery of logistics procedures and standards
