Requirements

Candidates must meet one of the following qualification pathways:

Pathway 1: PhD Holders

• Ph.D. or equivalent qualification
• Minimum three (3) years experience as Lecturer II/Librarian II
• Admissible publications totaling not less than twenty-five (25) points
• Minimum forty-five (45) points in Job Appraisal
• Minimum number of publications not less than five (5)
• PhD in Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, or Fellowship in Medicine
• Registration with MDCN (Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria) or Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN)

Pathway 2: Master's Degree Holders

• Master's Degree qualification
• Minimum three (3) years experience as Lecturer II/Librarian II
• Admissible publications totaling not less than thirty (30) points
• Citation not less than five (5)
• Minimum forty-five (45) points in Job Appraisal
• Minimum number of publications not less than six (6)

General Requirements (All Candidates)

• Up-to-date membership of relevant professional body/bodies
• Minimum two (2) points in Academic Leadership/Administrative Responsibility
• Visible presence on Google Scholar or Research Gate with citation not less than five (5)

Appointment Conditions

Successful applicants taking up teaching appointment at the University for the first time can enter at not more than the rank of Lecturer I.
