Lead Network Planning and Distribution at Nigerian Electricity Supply Corporation (Nigeria) Limited (NESCO)

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join Nigerian Electricity Supply Corporation (Nigeria) Limited (NESCO) in Lagos. This role is responsible for overseeing the design, planning, development, and maintenance of the power distribution network.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive plans for the expansion and optimization of the electrical distribution network
• Monitor energy flow across the distribution network and develop strategies to optimize usage and minimize distribution losses
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant regulatory standards and company policies
• Participate in on-site electrical load surveys for new projects
• Develop and implement loss reduction, equipment failure prevention, and accident reduction strategies
• Participate in network design and supervise engineering drawing production
• Ensure all customers and distribution assets are mapped and tagged using GIS tools
• Plan, organize, design, and coordinate technical activities for smooth functioning of distribution networks
• Inspect, test, and commission new distribution network feeders and distribution sub-stations
• Maintain, manage, and conduct electrical load surveys of all feeders
• Identify potential risks in the design, planning, and development of projects
• Initiate, schedule, monitor, and control technical projects to ensure compliance with planned objectives and regulatory standards
• Review Bill of Engineering Measurement and Evaluation (BEME) and cost-benefit analyses for technical projects
• Provide civil and electrical inputs for proposal vetting, conduct feasibility tests, and perform necessary computations for proposal evaluation
• Conduct site visits for proposed projects on a monthly basis and as required
