About the Role

We are urgently seeking a Legal Counsel to join our team at Newchip Technologies. We require a dedicated professional who currently resides in or around the Ikeja area of Lagos State.

Work Details

• Position Type: Full-Time
• Schedule: Monday – Friday
• Salary: ₦150,000 per month
• Location: Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive legal support and representation for the organization, including:

• Corporate and Commercial Law: Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and executing a variety of legal documents, contracts, agreements, and policies
• Litigation & Compliance: Managing potential and ongoing litigation matters, representing the organization in court or at arbitration, and ensuring all company operations comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations
• Legal Research: Conducting in-depth legal research on complex issues and providing clear, actionable legal advice to management and departments
• Regulatory Filings: Handling all regulatory filings, permits, and licensing requirements with relevant government agencies (e.g., CAC, FIRS)
• Risk Management: Identifying legal risks in business strategies and operations and developing mitigation plans

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must possess an LL.B degree and be called to the Nigerian Bar
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
• Strong report-writing abilities
