Laboratory Technician at Petcare Animal Hospital

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and dedicated Laboratory Technician to support our diagnostics team at Petcare Animal Hospital. The ideal candidate will assist with routine laboratory procedures, handle samples correctly, operate equipment, and ensure the efficiency of daily diagnostic operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting routine laboratory tests (haematology, urinalysis, microscopy, parasitology, etc.)
• Prepare samples and reagents for analysis
• Operate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment
• Ensure proper labeling, handling, and storage of all samples
• Record and update laboratory results accurately
• Support Laboratory Scientists with diagnostic procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment
• Monitor inventory and report low stock of lab supplies
• Follow safety and quality control procedures strictly

Qualifications

• OND, HND, or B.Sc. in Science Laboratory Technology or related field
• Experience in laboratory work (veterinary experience is a bonus)
• Passionate, reliable, and eager to learn
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Basic computer skills for record keeping
