About the Role

We are recruiting a Laboratory Technician to join our established healthcare organization. In this role, you will support physicians in diagnosing diseases through specimen collection, processing, and laboratory analysis.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Collect and process specimens to assist physicians in disease diagnosis
• Perform basic laboratory procedures and run tests, including preparing and staining slides and making blood films
• Prepare plates for microbiological use
• Receive, sort, and label patient samples, including a variety of specimen types
• Transport specimens and fluid samples from collection sites to laboratories
• Prepare, pack, and dispatch referral samples in accordance with health and safety procedures for handling infectious materials
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, including test tubes, apparatus, and work surfaces
• Perform additional duties as assigned by senior leadership

Required Qualifications

• Minimum academic qualification: Medical Laboratory Technology certificate approved by relevant professional body
• 0–3 years of relevant work experience in a hospital or clinical setting
• Membership of relevant professional body

Required Skills

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and people management abilities
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
