Job description

We are seeking a competent and experienced Lab Supervisor to oversee quality control and laboratory operations for road and building construction projects. The ideal candidate will ensure that all materials and processes meet required engineering and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities: - Supervise and manage laboratory activities related to construction materials testing. - Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards and testing procedures. - Conduct and oversee testing of construction materials including soil, aggregates, concrete and bituminous materials. - Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment and testing records. - Support quality assurance processes across project sites. - Manage borrow pit evaluation and material source approval processes. - Prepare and submit laboratory reports and test results. - Coordinate with site engineers and quality teams to resolve material-related issues. Required Experience & Technical Competencies - Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a construction quality laboratory within road and building construction. Comprehensive Testing Knowledge in: - Bituminous Materials: Marshall Stability, Flow Test, Bitumen Extraction, Penetration Test. - Soil & Geotechnical: Proctor Density, CBR (California Bearing Ratio), Atterberg Limits, Hydrometer Analysis. - Concrete & Aggregates: Mix design verification, compressive strength testing, sieve analysis. - Chemical & Fuel Testing: Diesel testing, water quality testing for construction, chemical soil stabilization. Requirements: - HND/B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering or related discipline. - Experience in borrow pit management and material source approval. - Strong analytical and reporting skills. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. - Good communication and supervisory skills.
