Job description
An established company is recruiting for the following position.
Position Overview:
- We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to support the daily operations of our kitchen.
- The ideal candidate will assist chefs and kitchen staff in preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring smooth workflow in a fast-paced culinary environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in food preparation such as washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of food items
- Dispose of waste and manage kitchen hygiene according to health and safety standards
- Support chefs and cooks during meal service
- Refill supplies and restock ingredients as needed
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times
- Assist with dishwashing and cleaning duties as required.
Requirements:
- Minimum of SSCE/WAEC or equivalent
- Certification in food safety or hygiene is an added advantage
- 0 – 2 years of experience in a kitchen or food service environment
- On-the-job training will be provided for entry-level candidates
Other Requirements:
- Must be punctual, dependable, and well-mannered
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Must maintain a neat and hygienic appearance
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen setting.
Required Skills:
- Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food hygiene
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Good time management and multitasking skills
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods
- Attention to detail and cleanliness
- Willingness to learn and adapt to kitchen routines.
Remuneration
- Competitive Salary: N50,000 / month based on experience
- Meals during shifts (if applicable)
