Junior Accountant at Rovingheights

About the Role

Rovingheights is seeking a Junior Accountant to support the finance department in maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and tracking daily sales across all store locations. This position plays a vital role in ensuring smooth financial operations throughout the company.

The role requires attention to detail, timeliness, and a willingness to learn and grow within a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions and assist in posting journal entries
• Track daily sales and reconcile POS, cash, and bank payments from all branches
• Prepare and maintain petty cash records
• Support the preparation of monthly management reports
• Perform bank and account reconciliations
• Assist with statutory deductions
• Maintain accurate filing of financial documents including receipts, invoices, and payment vouchers
• Support the finance team during audits and stock-taking exercises
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and internal controls
• Provide administrative and accounting support as assigned

Required Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in retail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Strong analytical and organisational skills
• Integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
• Ability to work under minimal supervision

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with POS and sales reconciliation
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Eagerness to learn and grow within a structured finance department
