Junior Account Officer at Lumos

Job Summary

A reputable organization seeks a dedicated Junior Finance Officer to support the finance team in managing accounting records, financial transactions, and reporting activities. This role is ideal for fresh graduates with 1 to 2 years' experience holding a degree in Accounting or Finance who have completed their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and are currently undergoing or have completed their ICAN certification.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets
• Record and maintain financial transactions in accordance with accounting principles
• Support accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely invoices and payments
• Reconcile bank statements and financial discrepancies
• Assist in tax computations, filings, and regulatory compliance
• Participate in financial audits and provide necessary documentation
• Support cost analysis and financial forecasting to enhance decision-making
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure adherence to internal controls
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial alignment with business goals

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Completed the 1-year compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)
• 1–2 years of working experience
• ICAN certification in progress or completed
• Basic understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
• Practical experience with payment processes and vendor management
• Experience managing banking relationships
