About the Role

Our client is a CBN licensed and NDIC insured Microfinance bank providing Savings, Investment, and Loan products to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Due to expansion, they are seeking a Junior Credit & Risk Analyst to join their team.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements and ratios to assess borrower's financial health
• Evaluate lending risks and identify cost reduction opportunities
• Collaborate with clients and loan officers on credit decisions
• Prepare loan applications and develop risk mitigation strategies
• Recommend credit limits for new customers
• Verify authenticity of provided documents
• Ensure loan proposals comply with bank credit policy
• Recommend adjustments to credit policies based on market trends

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or HND qualification
• 2–4 years of relevant work experience in a financial institution
• Proficiency in MS Office and Core Banking software applications
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of credit and portfolio management
• Strong financial analysis and reporting skills
• Risk assessment expertise
• Ability to navigate compliance issues
• Great communication and negotiation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• MCP (Microfinance Certification Program) or relevant professional certification
