Position Overview:
- The Inventory Officer will support the effective management, tracking, and control of all materials, equipment, and consumables on the project site.
- The role ensures accurate documentation, timely issuance of materials, and proper stock handling to support uninterrupted project execution. Working under the supervision of the head of procurement, the Inventory Officer will maintain inventory accuracy, transparency, and accountability across all site stores.
- Receive, verify, and record all incoming materials and equipment against delivery notes and purchase orders.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for materials issued, transferred, and returned.
- Ensure all items are properly labeled, categorized, and stored in designated locations.
- Update inventory tracking systems or Excel-based records daily.
- Issue materials to site teams strictly against approved requisitions.
- Track material movement from store to work fronts, ensuring full traceability.
- Monitor consumption rates and report abnormal usage or discrepancies.
- Support daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts and reconciliations.
- Maintain orderly, safe, and clean storage areas in compliance with safety standards.
- Assist in loading and unloading of materials while preventing damage or loss.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of sensitive or high-value items.
- Prepare daily inventory logs, material issue vouchers, and stock balance reports.
- Report low stock levels and slow-moving items to the Inventory Supervisor.
- Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and site engineers to ensure material availability.
- Support audit exercises and provide documentation as required.
- Adhere strictly to company inventory procedures and internal controls.
- Maintain zero tolerance for undocumented material movement or losses.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and audit requirements.
- HND, or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in inventory, warehouse, or store operations, preferably on construction or industrial projects.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or Excel-based tracking tools.
- Strong numerical accuracy and recordkeeping skills.
