Job Summary
Excel and Grace Consulting is seeking a talented and experienced Intercontinental Chef with strong culinary expertise in both continental and Nigerian cuisine. The ideal candidate will be creative, detail-oriented, and capable of producing high-quality dishes with professional presentation standards. You must be passionate about food, knowledgeable about global culinary trends, and able to manage or work effectively within a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare a wide variety of dishes from continental cuisines and Nigerian favorites
- Plan and execute menus for regular dining, special events, and VIP guests
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and plating for high-quality service
- Work with kitchen staff to maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff and assistants as needed
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and reduce food waste
- Stay updated with food trends and innovate new dishes or modern twists on classics
- Ensure timely preparation of meals during busy service periods
Requirements
- 4–6 years' experience as a professional chef, preferably in a hotel, fine-dining restaurant, or international catering company
- Proficient in preparing both Nigerian and intercontinental dishes
- Culinary school certification or equivalent professional training
- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Creativity in menu design and plating
- Ability to lead and work as part of a team
- Familiarity with dietary requirements
