Infrastructure and Server Administrator

About the Role

Software Business Solutions Consulting is seeking a skilled and dedicated Infrastructure and Server Administrator to maintain and support our company's server environment. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to take a key role in our IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and upgrade server systems
• Ensure servers are secure, optimized, and running efficiently
• Perform server and security audits, system backup procedures, and recovery processes in accordance with the company's disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
• Identify potential issues and problems proactively to ensure maximum uptime and server performance
• Manage and monitor system resources including CPU usage and disk usage
• Design and implement system architecture and perform hardware upgrades
• Manage end users, set up user accounts, and oversee access rights
• Provide technical support and guidance to users and other administrators
• Create and maintain server documentation

Required Qualifications

• Proven work experience as a Server Administrator or similar role in IT
• Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN), and patch management
• Knowledge of system security techniques and data backup/recovery
• Ability to create scripts in Perl, Python, or other programming languages
• Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
• Excellent communication skills
• BSc/BA in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certification such as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)
