HSE Officer at Excel and Grace Consulting

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified HSE Officer to implement and monitor Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. You will ensure a safe and compliant working environment in accordance with local regulations, industry standards, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor the company's HSE policies, procedures, and programs
• Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits on vessels, facilities, and operational sites
• Ensure compliance with applicable local and international HSE standards (e.g., NIMASA, ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL)
• Investigate and report incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions
• Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, and incident investigations to identify hazards and promote safety awareness
• Facilitate HSE training, inductions, and toolbox talks for crew and onshore staff
• Maintain and update HSE documentation, reports, and records in line with regulatory requirements
• Monitor environmental impact and waste management practices in marine operations
• Participate in emergency response planning and drills
• Support the continuous improvement of safety culture and environmental responsibility throughout the organization

Required Qualifications

• B.Sc. or HND in Environmental Science, Engineering, Safety Management, or a related discipline
• Minimum 3 years of HSE experience, preferably in the marine or oil & gas logistics sector
• HSE Level 1, 2 & 3 (or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of HSE standards and marine safety regulations

Desired Qualifications

• NEBOSH or ISPON certification
