## Title: HSE Officer
About the Role
We are seeking a qualified HSE Officer to implement and monitor Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. You will ensure a safe and compliant working environment in accordance with local regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor the company's HSE policies, procedures, and programs
- Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits on vessels, facilities, and operational sites
- Ensure compliance with applicable local and international HSE standards (e.g., NIMASA, ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL)
- Investigate and report incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions
- Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, and incident investigations to identify hazards and promote safety awareness
- Facilitate HSE training, inductions, and toolbox talks for crew and onshore staff
- Maintain and update HSE documentation, reports, and records in line with regulatory requirements
- Monitor environmental impact and waste management practices in marine operations
- Participate in emergency response planning and drills
- Support the continuous improvement of safety culture and environmental responsibility throughout the organization
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc. or HND in Environmental Science, Engineering, Safety Management, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of HSE experience, preferably in the marine or oil & gas logistics sector
- HSE Level 1, 2 & 3 (or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of HSE standards and marine safety regulations
Desired Qualifications
- NEBOSH or ISPON certification
